The studio
A small room with very good light
Aiko Brandt is a quiet maximalist based in Lisbon. The work feels lived-in, intentional, and a little unexpected.
I paint in the morning, scan at night, and keep a shelf of brushes I refuse to throw away. Clients come for the ink, and stay for the way the work holds up on a wall.

How a piece finds its shape
Nothing here is rushed. The first mark is usually wrong, and that is useful. Here is the honest order of things.

We talk about the room, the light, and what you want to feel when you walk past it.

I make small studies on scrap paper. Cheap paper, bold marks, no preciousness.
- 03
One large sheet. Wet, wait, dry, scrape. Repeat until the image stops arguing.
- 04
Scan, archive, and ship with a note about the day it was finished.

Phone snaps, palette tests, and the odd studio mess. Nothing staged beyond the window.
A small experiment
Fold the page
Paint on either side of the crease. The sheet mirrors every mark, the way wet ink does when you close the paper on it. Hold still to let a drop bleed. Then fold, and see what the blot wants to be.

Do you take commissions for a specific room?
Yes, most of the work starts that way. Send a photo of the wall, the light it gets and roughly how big you imagine the piece.
How long does a piece take?
It depends on size and how many studies it needs. You get a realistic timeline after the first conversation, before anything is agreed.
Can I see studies before the final sheet?
Always. Small studies on scrap paper come first, and you choose the direction with me.
Do you ship?
Yes. Finished pieces are packed flat or rolled with care, with a note about the day they were finished.
