Each cabin is felled, notched, and raised on-site from storm-fallen spruce. Book a weekend or a full moon week.

03 The Craft
Built the old way
Every joint cut by hand. Every beam raised with a crew of six and a lot of rope.
Hand-notched
Saddle notches and dovetails cut with chisels. No metal brackets in the load path.
Storm-fallen
Spruce and pine recovered from blowdown. Nothing living is felled on the property.
Stone hearth
Local granite fireplaces built dry-stack with a single steel lintel at the throat.
Wool and linen
Bedding woven within a day's drive. Heavy wool blankets for shoulder-season nights.

Cabin Keeper
Raised three ridgelines over, Tove Lindqvist keeps the woodpiles high and the lanterns lit. The cabins were raised by hand, one at a time, from wood that the storms brought down.
