Sleep underthe moving sky.

Twelve timber cabins on a frozen lake, a wood fired sauna at the water's edge, and nights so dark the aurora lights the snow. Hosted by Sanna Aikio.

Move your hand across the sky. Scroll to let night fall.

The lamps go out at ten. Your eyes adjust. Somewhere above the ridge a pale green thread begins to move.

Four skies

Pick a season.
Watch the sky change.

Every month up here has its own light. Choose one and the whole scene re-grades, so you can see the colour of the week you are booking.

Long blue noons and fourteen hours of dark. Snow squeaks underfoot, the lake is thick enough to walk on, and the aurora has the whole night to show itself.

Questions

Before you come.

Will I see the northern lights?

Nobody can promise it. Clear skies and solar activity decide. A stay of three nights or more in the dark months gives you a good chance, and we wake you when it happens.

How cold does it get?

Winter nights can be very cold. We lend insulated suits, boots and mitts for the whole stay, so you only need warm base layers.

Is the sauna included?

Yes. The shore sauna is heated every evening and the guided breathing session is open to all guests.

Can we come with children?

Yes, the forest lodge sleeps up to six. The glass roof suites are for adults.

What about food?

Breakfast and supper are served in the main lodge, cooked with local fish, game and berries. Tell us about any diet when you book.
