# What content should a business publish to win customers?

Publish content that answers the questions buyers ask before they choose a provider: what it costs, how it works, how long it takes, what can go wrong, how you compare with the alternatives and whether it suits their situation. Collect those questions from your own enquiries, calls and search data, answer each one directly on a page or in a post, and link it to the next step. This content gets found in search, quoted by AI assistants and reused by whoever answers your enquiries.

## Why do buyer questions beat general content?

General content, such as industry news, tips for everyone or "5 trends for next year", competes with thousands of pages and attracts readers who are not buying. A question like "how much does a garden room cost" or "do I need planning permission for a garden room" is asked by someone close to a decision. Answering it well puts you in front of that person at the right moment, and it is exactly the kind of passage search engines and AI assistants lift into their answers.

## Where do I find the questions buyers ask?

- **Your own enquiries and emails.** Go through the last few months and copy every question, in the customer's own words.

- **Sales calls and site visits.** Ask whoever talks to customers what comes up every time.

- **Reviews**, yours and competitors': the doubts people had before they booked.

- **Search Console.** The Performance report shows the searches you already appear for, including many phrased as questions.

- **Search results.** The "People also ask" box and related searches on Google show questions around your topic.

- **Forums and groups** where your customers talk, such as local community groups and trade forums.

- **AI assistants.** Ask one what people usually want to know before buying your service, then check the list against your real enquiries.

## Which questions should I answer first?

Start with the questions closest to money. They tend to fall into a few types:

| Type | Example | Good format |

| Cost | How much does a wedding band cost in Ireland? | Page with ranges and what changes the price |

| Problems and risks | What can go wrong with a loft conversion? | Page or short video |

| Comparisons | Is a heat pump better than a gas boiler for an older house? | Page with a comparison table |

| Process and time | How long does it take to get a website built? | Page with the steps and a timeline |

| Fit | Is this service worth it for a small cafe? | Page with who it suits and who it does not |

| Choosing a provider | What should I ask before hiring an electrician? | Page with a checklist |

Cost questions are often the ones businesses avoid, and the ones buyers most want answered. You do not need to publish a fixed price list; ranges, examples and the factors that move the price are enough.

## How should I write an answer page?

- **Answer in the first two or three sentences**, before any background. Someone skimming, or an assistant quoting, should get the answer from that paragraph alone.

- **Use the question as the title**, and sub-questions as headings.

- **Be specific.** Real ranges, real examples from your work, real places, real time frames.

- **Show your working**: link to the sources behind any fact, and say when the page was last updated.

- **Say who wrote it** and why they know. Google's guidance on [helpful, reliable, people-first content](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/creating-helpful-content) puts weight on who made the content and how.

- **End with the next step**: the quote form, the booking page, or the related service page.

One solid page per important question usually beats one long FAQ page that answers everything briefly. Keep a short FAQ for small questions, and give the big ones their own page.

## How do I turn one answer into social posts and video?

Each answer page holds several posts. The first paragraph is a caption. The table is a carousel. The most surprising point is a short video: film yourself answering the question in thirty seconds and link to the page for detail. Our guides on [short video](https://www.auraicpulse.info/guides/short-video-filmed-on-a-phone) and [enquiries from social media](https://www.auraicpulse.info/guides/get-enquiries-from-social-media) show how to make those posts bring messages.

## How often should I publish new content?

At a pace you can keep for a year. For most small businesses, one well-made answer page a month, plus updates to the pages you have, is plenty. Revisit each page at least once a year: prices change, rules change, and a visible recent update date helps readers trust it.

## Checklist: content that answers buyer questions

- A running list of real buyer questions, in their words

- Cost, risk, comparison, process and fit questions answered first

- Answer in the first two or three sentences of each page

- Question headings, specific examples, sources linked, date shown

- Author named, with why they know

- Every page ends with the next step

- Each answer reused as posts and short video

- Pages reviewed and updated at least once a year

## Questions people also ask

Should buyer questions go on a blog or on normal pages?

Either works if the page is easy to find from your menu or service pages. Many businesses do better with a small set of guide pages linked from the relevant services than with a dated blog feed.

How long should an answer page be?

As long as it takes to answer the question well. Some answers need three hundred words and a table, others need fifteen hundred. Put the answer at the top so length never gets in the way.

Can I use AI to write my content?

Google says it rewards helpful content however it is produced, and its spam policies target content made at scale mainly to manipulate rankings. Use AI to help draft, but add your own experience, examples and checks, and read every word before it goes live.

Will competitors copy my answers?

Some might. Your real examples, prices, photos and experience are hard to copy, and publishing first with a clear date and author helps show whose work it is.
